How to Apply for Quota Hunts

Georgia's Online Quota Hunt Application System - General Information

Alligator, deer (including State Parks), waterfowl and turkey quota hunts applications must be submitted through your online customer account at www.gohuntgeorgia.com.  Hunters may use their personal computers or those available at local libraries, friends, family, or work (if permitted). Your account includes a bank that maintains your rejection priorities and allows you to allocate priority points from your account.  As a last resort, you may contact your Regional Game Management Office to apply.  Make sure you have all your personal information available, and that of all party members (names, address, phone numbers, birthdates, social security numbers, etc.) BEFORE you apply.

Potential applicants who wait until the last few days before attempting to apply could have technical isses that ultimately may result in them missing the application deadline.  Please help yourself avoid missing a deadline by applying early.  If customer service is required, please be aware that our offices are ONLY open M-F between the hours of 8 AM and 4:30 PM (except closed on state holidays).

Please read all directions thoroughly and carefully before attempting to access your account and apply for a quota hunt. Thank you!

ONLINE ACCOUNTS

Please print these out to serve as a handy guide!

Many users may already have accounts and not know it.  You may already have an account in our system from: Hunter Education, online Hunting/Fishing license purchase, online Boat Registration, or several other actions. Considering all these possibilities, a quota hunt applicant should first determine if an account already exists.  To do this, please read all these instructions thoroughly first before performing any actions.  Then, go to the the "Create a Login Account" page and follow the directions (customarily in the left hand margin).

If you receive an error stating: "That social security number already exists in our database." or "That name and birthday already exists in our database.", then you must contact Hunter Services at (770) 761-3045 or brandon.anderson@dnr.state.ga.us.

If an account does not exist for you, then you will be told in red print that you do not appear to have any information in our system and to follow the instructions for creating an account.

If an account does exist for you, then you will be taken to the "Manage Your Account Information Page".  Please follow the instructions in the left hand margin. Be sure that you enter a valid email address because this will assist you in managing your account and quota hunt applications.  Once you have verified, updated, and completed all your personal information, please click "Save".  The screen will refresh with a "Password Information" dialog box.  You will be ask to enter a Username and Password. If a Username and Password does not exist for your account, then you will now establish one (you may have to try several options as some Usernames may already be taken).  If you didn't already have a Username and Password, then it will be accepted.  However, if  your account already has a Username and Password then you see the notice that "you already have a username and password in our system" and can click "here" to have it emailed to you. On the refreshed screen, please enter the email address you set in your account and click "Submit"; it will emailed within a few minutes.  Once you receive your Username and Password, you will be set to go. If DNR set this account up for you based on last year's quota hunt application, then your Username and Password will be your LAST name (in all CAPS) and the last four digits of your Social Security Number (SSN) with no spaces.  Your Password will be your SSN with no spaces or dashes.

Please under no circumstances attempt to create a second account if the system indicates that you already have an account. This will only exacerbate any probelms and increase your frustrations.  If you can't seem to get into your existing account by trying everything mentioned above then please call the numbers at the bottom of the screen or send us an email through the "Contact Us" link on the bottom of the page.  Be sure to tell us who you are (Full Name & DOB), describe the problem, and how to contact you.

Any person who does not have an account must set up an account PRIOR to attempting to apply for a quota hunt.  Once you have set up an account you can apply through a link on your account page or follow the directions, HOW TO APPLY. Please be sure to keep your email current!

PRIORITIES

Priority points are accrued from past rejections for a specific type of hunt.  All priorities will be maintained in your on-line account by quota hunt type - alligator, deer, State Park, turkey, & waterfowl.  It will work like a bank!  When you apply there will be a drop down box for priorities from which you can choose from zero up to the maximum number of priority points you have acquired.  If you have 4 points but use only 2 and get selected then you will have a balance of 2 points in your account.  However, if you are rejected in this same example, then you will accrue an additional point.

The current priority level reflected in your account reflects your present status after the quota drawings for the 2009-2010 hunting season. If you have outstanding priority cards from years before 2005 then you must send those in to receive credit.  In order to receive credit for rejection cards prior to 2005, you will first have to establish an account if you do not have one.

Please send any rejection cards issued prior to 2005, to:

DNR WRD

ATTN: Brandon Anderson

2065 US Hwy. 278 SE

Social Circle, GA 30025

You should expect 5 business days before the account will be updated.  Anyone trying to defraud the quota hunt system may be disqualified from future hunts for two years.

HOW TO APPLY

To complete an application, log in to your account and click on the Manage Quota Hunt Applications link to the left of your account information. You will be taken to the Quota Hunt Application Information page, which will show a list of hunt types, the status of any application you have, actions, and deadlines. To apply, click Add under the action header. All of your personal information will automatically be entered and you will only need to choose the specific hunts for your choices from a drop down menu. Then click Save. At this point, you are the application administrator for this application. If you desire to add a person (e.g. parties), then please click on the Add a Friend option to the left. As administrator you will need the last name and SSN of all persons in your party in order to complete a party application. Anytime an application is submitted, modified, or deleted, every person listed on the application will receive an email. Please check your email frequently to view the status of your applications.

Apply for alligator, deer (including State Parks), turkey, and waterfowl quota hunts here.

PARTY APPLICATIONS

As discussed above, one applicant will serve as the application administrator of a party and will be responsible for managing a party application. The entire party will be either selected or rejected.  When applying as a party, each member of the party must allocate an equal number of rejection notices for the party to receive priority.  Party size is as follows:  Deer 5; Turkey & Alligator 3; State Park Deer 5; and Waterfowl 1.  A successful waterfowl applicant can bring up to two people with them on a hunt.

DEADLINES

To be eligible for drawings, applicants must apply online prior to midnight as follows: July 31 for Alligator hunts; September 1 for Deer hunts (including State Parks); October 15 for Waterfowl, and February 15 for Turkey.
