Evans County PFAEVANS COUNTY PFA TO RE-OPEN JUNE 1, 2013: Evans County PFA has been closed to the public since June 1, 2012 for reconstruction and is scheduled to re-open to the public on June 1, 2013. *News Release Regarding Re-Opening Evans County PFA, located east of Claxton, Georgia, is a 372-acre area that includes three separate impoundments. Lakes Longleaf, Wood and Bidd Sands attract more than 5,000 anglers each year with Hours: Open Wednesday through Sunday, sunrise to sunset. Fish Species: Largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, crappie, brown bullhead. Creel Limits: Bream limit is 15 per person; largemouth bass is 5 per person with a 14-inch minimum length; channel catfish is 5 per person; and crappie is 30 per person. Water: three ponds encompassing 122 acres (8, 30, & 84 acres). Facilities: concrete boat ramps, fishing piers, restrooms, picnic tables, primitive camping, some facilities accessible to persons with disabilities. Licensing: To help cover the costs of maintaining these great resources, visitors (ages 16-64) must have one of the following to access Public Fishing Areas except for Rocky Mountain PFA:
